Charlton welcome Championship newcomers Swansea City to London for the opening fixture of the new Championship season. This promises to be an entertaining encounter, The Addicks are going for promotion while The Swans will be looking to establish themselves in English football's second tier. Swans boss Martinez believes this fixture is a great opening test for his side. Alan Pardew says that Charlton must get things right this year to win promotion. Charlton are sweating on the fitness of Mark Hudson. Jonathon Fortune is the only fit recognised center back in the squad currently. Luke Varney and Andy Gray look set to continue their successful pre-season partnership into the first game of the season.
