A suspected Calabrian mob boss wanted in Italy was arrested Friday outside of a luxurious lakeside apartment in Toronto. Giuseppe Coluccio has been wanted in Italy since 2005 when he fled the country following charges that he ran a ruthless mob organization that controlled maritime traffic along a 60-kilometre stretch of Calabrian coast. Italian prosecutor Nicolo Gatteri confirmed Coluccio's arrest. He had apparently been living in Toronto. The alleged criminal has been charged with Mafia association and extortion and is being held pending extradition. A hearing will be held in three days. News of the arrest impressed Canada's Public Safety Minister.
