SHREVEPORT, La. - Louisiana's governor, Shreveport's mayor and other leaders will head to Detroit on Aug. 15 to talk to General Motors Corp. about saving local jobs. Gov. Bobby Jindal, Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover and someone from the Caddo Parish Commission are expected to meet with GM's president of North America and the company's head of manufacturing for North America. Jindal says their intent for the trip is to make it clear to GM that the state is willing to be aggressive in being a partner to put people back to work in Louisiana.
