Dropping out would be a tough blow to the Calgarian Stephen Ames finished his 18th hole just as the evening horn went off, ending play on the first day of the 90th PGA Championship. It could be his last. The 44-year-old Calgarian, who arrived under the weather at Oakland Hills Country Club this week and suffered and sniffled his way through a seven-over 77 yesterday, hinted he may not be able to answer the bell for his second round this morning. "I'm going to give it a try but that might be all," he said. "I don't know (if he'll go today). It got worse as the round went on. I was getting weaker and I noticed it in my shots."
