ATK Operated Facility Wins Prestigious Army Award

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Techsystems , which operates the Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RFAAP) in southwestern Virginia, has jointly received with the U.S. Army one of the prestigious "30th Annual Secretary of the Army Energy and Water Management Awards" for its energy efficiency and energy management efforts at the plant. The Army presented the award on Wednesday during the Department of Defense All-Hands Energy Meeting, which followed the GovEnergy Conference, in Phoenix, Ariz. Since 2003, RFAAP's demand for steam and electricity has risen with the plant's marked increase in output.
