Posted to the web 7 August 2008 Harare NATIONAL Arts Merit Award-winning sculptor Victor Nyakauru will this week hold a solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Mutare. The exhibition will be running under the theme: "Tumbuyu/Insecta". NGZ director Doreen Sibanda said the exhibition was a mixture of media sculptures of insects created from stone, metal and bones. Victor's sources of inspiration are the ideas and creations of the small creatures, some of which have been used in Shona folklore. "He is greatly inspired by insects, and thus his theme is rooted in the world of insects, some of which have been used to teach lessons while some were used to entertain.
