Frank Dancevic is Canada’s great homegrown hope for men’s singles. And in a week where the top seeds were falling all over the place at the Rogers Cup (Roger Federer, Tommy Robredo, Nikolay Davydenko, Fernando Gonzalez, Mikhail Youzhny), Dancevic did his part for the local crowd, crushing Mario Ancic — ranked No. 24 in the world — in straight sets. Alas, Dancevic’s run was an abbreviated one and ended the following night at the hands of 2007 champion Novak Djokovic.
