Jones eyes Thongs gong

Last Modified: 26 Jul 2008 Source: ITN Steve Jones, star of new teen movie Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, reckons he could be in for an Oscar. The 31-year-old Welsh TV star says his cameo as hunky handyman Jem, who has few qualms about baring his chest, could just mean one of those little golden statuettes. Jones, who has always remained coy when asked about rumours linking him to a number of his T4 interviewees, including Halle Berry and Pamela Anderson, says he had huge fun making the film. Directed by Gurhinda 'Bend It Like Beckham' Chadha, the romcom is based on the best-selling books by Louise Rennison. It stars Georgia Groome as boy-crazy teenager Georgia Nicolson who along with her bezzie mates, gets a bit hot under the collar when brothers Tom and Robbie move into the neighbourhood.
