Identity fraud in the UK increased by 66 % between 2007 and 2006, according to financial company Experian. The latest Experian Victims of Fraud Dossier shows it received more than 6,000 complaints about ID fraud in 2007 compared to 3,500 in 2006. The report also points out hotspots for fraud in the UK, including London and Edinburgh, with residents in some parts of London being up to five times more likely to fall victim to fraud than the UK average. Experian warns that even people who are not in hotspots could fall victim to fraudsters and everyone should be vigilant.
