Why Chelsea's John Terry must retain the England captaincy

Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard would both make brilliant England skippers, but it is Terry who carries the greater attributes needed for the job. England’s legendary goalkeeper Peter Shilton said that he believes John Terry should retain the national team’s captaincy when the World Cup qualifiers get under way in September - and, after considering the alternative options very carefully, I have to agree with his opinion. The England head coach, Fabio Capello, may have left fans in the dark as to who will be selected to lead his country later this year, but I would be quite surprised if anybody other than the Chelsea skipper was selected by the Italian.
