Zayo Acquires Network and CLEC Operations in Five Markets

Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributing Editor Zayo Group has completed the acquisition of the network and associated competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) operations in five markets from CenturyTel . Zayo Group is a provider of telecom services consisting of bandwidth, voice and managed services to carrier, enterprise, SME and government customers. CenturyTel, headquartered in Monroe, La., provides communications, high-speed Internet and entertainment services. According to Dennis Kyle, president of Zayo managed services, “Customers are looking for a trusted partner to provide simple, integrated communications that make sense for their business.
