By David Wildman Thursday, July 24, 2008 - Updated 4m ago After more than a quarter century hosting top comedians at its Faneuil Hall location, the Comedy Connection has moved to the recently refurbished Wilbur Theatre. Joel McHale, the club’s first act in its new location, insists he’ll bring the venue crashing to the ground tomorrow with his stand-up routine. “I’m going to call it ‘The Amazing Voyage of the Titanic,’ ” said McHale, the star/writer/producer of E! network’s “The Soup,” as well as a budding film actor. “It will be like, ‘Here’s this great new venue for comedy! Here comes Joel! He’s going to open it up!’ And then horrible disappointment and tears.” Despite his brutally self-effacing humor, McHale really does have a career.
