Lake Charles Pilots get big payday

PILOTS on Louisiana’s Lake Charles received a boost this week when the state Pilotage Fee Commission approved a $15.8M compensation for the area’s 16 pilots. After several years of wrangling between the Associated Branch Pilots for the Port of Lake Charles and those who use their services, the fee panel voted, 8-2, in favour of a one-year pay package of roughly $660,000 per pilot.
