State jobless rate increases Associated Press FRANKFORT — The latest employment figures show Kentucky’s jobless rate rose slightly to 6.3 percent in June. Office of Employment and Training chief labor market analyst Justine Detzel blamed economic factors for the increase from May’s 6.2 percent unemployment. Detzel said the state’s economy has been weighed down in part by soaring prices for food and fuel. Non-farm employment fell by 4,400 jobs in the state.
