N.Korea, Russia Denounce Japan's Claim to Dokdo

North Korea has denounced Japan's latest move to claim sovereignty over the Dokdo islets. In an editorial in its latest issue, North Korea's daily Rodong Shinmun says Tokyo's claim to Dokdo is part of Japan's renewed ambition to dominate the Korean Peninsula. The daily is referring to Japan's forced occupation of the peninsula from 1910 to 1945. Earlier this month Japan's Education Ministry decided to publish a teaching manual for middle schools describing Dokdo as part of Japanese territory.
