Some decide to move on with their lives. That's what Fernando Araujo, who resigned as Colombia's foreign minister, found out after surviving six years in the hands of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, the country's oldest and largest rebel group. Araujo was kidnapped in 2000 just seven months after marrying a doctor from the northern city of Cartagena. After three years, she told Araujo's family that she could no longer wait for him. Araujo escaped from the rebels Dec. 31, 2006. He returned home to learn that his wife had left him for another man with whom she had a child.
