SPEEDWAY: Swindon sweet on Richard's loan move

ROBINS' teenage rider Richard Sweetman has joined the Isle of Wight on loan, writes ANTHONY MARSHALL. The 17-year-old has been drafted into the Premier League side as a replacement for fellow Swindon asset Cory Gathercole, who is recovering from a broken hand. After officially joining the Robins at the end of May, Sweetman only arrived in Wiltshire last week, and is expected to make his British debut on Tuesday when the Isle of Wight host Berwick at the Smallbrook stadium. The Islanders have a rich tradition of nurturing young Australian riders, and have been instrumental in launching the careers of Chris Holder, Adam Shields and Jason Doyle in recent years.
