ANAHEIM — The AL West-leading Angels returned to work Friday night at Angel Stadium, opening a weekend series against the AL East-leading Boston Red Sox in a potential playoff preview. Another one. The last time the Red Sox were here, they celebrated with a traditional dogpile in the middle of the infield after completing a three-game sweep in the AL Division Series. That was followed by the usual wet-and-wild nonsense in the visitors clubhouse, during which Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon dumped a can of beer on my head as I waited in front of David "Big Papi" Ortiz's locker.
