Legambiente promotes cities that exceed 35% of waste sorting The “Comuni Ricicloni 2008” awards were given in Rome in the presence of experts and Italian opinion leaders in the environmental sector. Each year, Legambiente award recognizes cities that have reached and exceeded the goal of waste sorting, set out by law, thanks to experiences ever more mature and oriented to an integrated waste management system. For the second straight year, Ecodom, the Italian consortium for the recuperation and recycling of household appliances, is part of the jury that examined the levels of waste sorting of over 2,000 cities nominated for the award. To win the “Recycling City” award, city administrations worked on collecting electric and electronic home appliances (RAEE), anticipating the law later put into effect (D. Lgs 151 in 2005)....
