Record number receive top FCAT score; none ranks lower than C BY MICHELLE SPITZER • FLORIDA TODAY • July 9, 2008 For the first time in the 10-year history of school grades, none of Brevard's schools received a grade below C while a record number received A's, according to reports released Tuesday by the state. Of the district's 91 schools, which includes charter schools, 82 -- or 90 percent -- earned A's. Three schools slipped a letter grade, while 10 improved. For the third straight year, all of Brevard's 12 middle schools received A's. "We are living up to being first in Florida," said Karen Schafer, director of accountability, testing and evaluation for Brevard Public Schools.
