Teen hurt in ’pike wreck

Police: Mid-size car, tractor trailer collide Amelia A. Pridemore Register-Herald Reporter A 19-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday morning when her mid-size car and a tractor trailer collided on the West Virginia Turnpike, State Police said. At 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, Corianne Carver, 19, of Shady Spring, was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion west on Interstate 64 and merged onto the Interstate 77 northbound lanes, said Sgt. D.R. Kincaid of the West Virginia State Police’s Turnpike division. At the 39-mile marker, her vehicle spun out of control, going across the northbound lanes. Carver’s car then struck a guard rail on the left side and bounced back into traffic, Kincaid said. A northbound tractor trailer then struck the Fusion’s driver’s side door, police said.
