Luiz Felipe Scolari: I never advised Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Man Utd and join Real Madrid

By William Gray Luiz Felipe Scolari insisted yesterday that he had never made an attempt to persuade Cristiano Ronaldo to quit Manchester United for Real Madrid. Scolari was asked if he wanted the man who scored 41 goals last season for the champions to quit Old Trafford, but he said: "I never advised Cristiano to change clubs. If Ronaldo stays or not, it is not my business." The Brazilian was in charge of the 23-year-old winger during Portugal's Euro 2008 campaign. United took exception to what was believed to be an unhelpful intervention when he was quoted last month as saying: "I know Cristiano well.
