Well, there were two of them on Centre Court on Sunday night, whose talent and approach it would be hard to better. Yet we should not expect too much of a rush to the racket. In fact, if you are a youngster who fancies thrashing it like Rafael Nadal, We are at the cusp of complete breakdown in the delivery of sporting opportunities. Never mind grass courts, our grassroots are in the process of wilting. It is not through want of funding - the LTA are awash with cash. But what use are decent facilities if the sickening choke of bureaucracy is smothering local sports clubs?
