Dozens of volunteers from across East Tennessee met at Knoxville Police Department Officer Norman Rickman's home Tuesday. Their mission? Sprucing up the yard he's been unable to tend since he was shot in the line of duty seven weeks ago. "Of course, in his condition, now he can't get out and do it in his recovery," said Chandler Hancock, one of the volunteers. Rickman is in good spirits and recovering remarkably well, but he still doesn't have a lot of energy. Neighbors and Boy Scouts have been mowing his lawn for him, but Tuesday's project took yard work to another level. Planning for the front and back yard makeover started last week.
