Sevierville, Tennessee - The Southern League announced an addition to the upcoming All-Star Game in Zebulon, NC on Monday July 14th, with the Tennessee Smokies' starting pitcher Mitch Atkins earning a spot on the North Division All-Star squad. Atkins will replace Huntsville Stars pitcher Steve Hammond, who was recently called up to Triple-A Nashville. Atkins has been in the Smokies starting rotation since the beginning of the season, and has become one of Tennessee's reliable pitchers. After somewhat of a slow start to the season, Atkins has rebounded nicely winning his last five starts in a row.
