By DAVID STRINGER Associated Press Writer LONDON (AP) - Syria will soon send an ambassador to Paris for the first time in two years, ending a freeze in relations between the two nations, the country's top diplomat in , Sami Khiyami, said a new envoy is likely to be sent to France in "the very near future" _ a signal that Syria is on the brink of warmer ties with Europe. Ties between Paris and Damascus soured over the 2005 assassination of former Lebanon Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and over the protracted negotiations on the election of a new Lebanese president. Syria's opponents in Lebanon accuse Damascus of being behind the killing of Hariri, who was close to French leaders. Syria denies the accusation.
