Atul Raos bail application hearing today

UDUPI: The bail application of Atul Rao, the prime suspect in the disappearance and suicide of Padmapriya, wife of Karnataka BJP MLA B Raghupathy Bhat, will be heard in a court here. District and Session Court Judge Paninder will hear the bail application. Rao, who is currently under judicial custody and undergoing treatment in Wenlock Hospital in Mangalore, moved an application seeking bail on June 30, sources said. Public Prosecutor G V Naik has opposed the bail plea, contending that it will hamper the on-going investigations, being done by a special police team into the Padmapriya death case. Rao, whose judicial custody will expire today, will be produced before the Udupi JMFC court.
