Commuters stranded after KZN bus shooting

Commuters from Esikhawini, near Empangeni on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast, were left stranded after drivers abandoned their buses following a shooting incident this morning. A passenger was killed when two unknown men travelling in a bakkie opened fire on buses belonging to the Ikhwezi bus service. Residents making their to work were greeted by scenes of buses lining the streets after the shooting, which occurred during the early hours of the morning, left three riddled with bullet holes. Eyewitnesses saw occupants of a white bakkie opening fire on a bus. A 49-year-old passenger was hit and killed, while a bus driver from the Ikhwezi bus company was wounded.
