Human Rights Watch says four Iranian minors risk execution in July and August if Tehran do not stop imposing the death penalty on those under 18, as stipulated by international law. The minors in questions have all been convicted of murder. HRW says Iran executed a Kurdish-Iranian 16-year-old boy last month for a crime he committed two years earlier — despite claims by Iran's judiciary spokesman Ali Reza Jamshidi's that execution of minors has "practically stopped." Iran had executed at least 17 juvenile offenders, eight times more than any other country, since the beginning of 2004, including two so far this year, according to an HRW count.
