Obama, McCain make pitches for Latino vote

The two main contenders for the U.S. presidency will make direct appeals to the nation's largest and fastest-growing minority group in separate appearances Tuesday before a key Latino-American organization in Washington. John McCain and Barack Obama are both scheduled to speak at the national convention of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), one of many advocacy groups for the nation's 46 million Latinos. While the presumptive Democratic nominee has translated his trademark "Yes we can" into Spanish, his Republican opponent McCain has ads specifically targeting Cuban-American voters.
