Local students fundraise on rally to Mongolia

Preparations are nearly finished for three local students to take to the road on the 19th July in the Mongol Rally, travelling from London to Mongolia. The event is to raise funds for Mercy Corps Mongolia and Hope and Homes for Children. The Rally will be quite an adventure with over 270 teams taking part and only half expected to finish in one piece. Vehicles must have no more than a 1 litre engine, there is no set route and are no support teams. The trip will cover between 8,000 and 10,000 miles and has been known to include places as different as Afghanistan and the Arctic Circle depending on navigation. The Rally is due to finish in Ulaanbaatar the capital of Mongolia sometime in August where the cars will be auctioned as part of the fundraising.
