From correspondents in Delhi, India, 10:00 PM IST Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh Tuesday met United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi and assured her of his party's support for the government on the India-US civil nuclear deal. The Samajwadi Party leader said his party would give to President Pratibha Patil Wednesday a fresh letter of support to the government. "Though we have never withdrawn the support from the government, tomorrow we will give to the president another letter of support," Singh told reporters after a 20-minute meeting with the Congress chief at her 10, Janpath residence soon after his party's parliamentary board formally declared support for the ruling Congress party.
