Wales News: Nigerian woman's second deportation reprieve

Jul 8 2008 Catherine Evans, WalesOnline PLANS to deport a five-month pregnant Nigerian woman and her family were quashed for the second time today when an airline refused to fly them. Kemi Ayinde, 24, who lived in Cardiff with her partner Taiwo Salami and their 18-month-old daughter Yasim, was due to be flown back to Nigeria this morning, after being detained at the Yarl’s Wood centre since June 17. Ms Ayinde was trafficked to Britain seven years ago. Her captors took her to London, where she was imprisoned and forced into prostitution, until she managed to escape in 2004. The family fear for their lives if they return to Nigeria.
