The Chocobo is Square Enix’s holiday season star [Siliconera]

This year not just one, but two games starring the Final Fantasy’s giant chicken are coming out in Japan. One of them is Cid and Chocobo no Fushigi no Dungeon: Toki Wasure no Meikyuu DS + which might be called something like Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon with Cid DS +. Yes, this is a DS port of the Chocobo roguelike coming out on the Wii in North America today. Japan gets the extended DS edition this fall. Unless Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon sells miserably we should get the DS port too. Square Enix already completed most of the localization work with the Wii version. Only new scenes and the mysterious “+” portion need to be translated. In the winter Square Enix will release another DS game starring the Chocobo in Japan.
