Arsenal are linked with a club record bid for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but the prolific forward’s current club Ajax have said there is no contact from the Gunners as yet. The Dutch international has reportedly emerged as the top target for Arsene Wenger as it seems more likely that Emmanuel Adebayor is set for Gunners exit with AC Milan and Barcelona linked. Huntelaar, who scored 33 goals for his club last season, has also been mentioned as Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s alternative to long-term target, Tottenham Hotspur forward Dimitar Berbatov.
