Britain’s security chiefs to headline UCL global crime conference

The Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, will speak before an international cast of anti-terror and crime experts at UCL’s annual International Crime Science Conference this month. The Conference is hosted by the UCL Centre for Security and Crime Science (CSCS) and backed by the Home Office, the Metropolitan Police, the US Department of Homeland Security and other front-line security agencies. Professor Gloria Laycock, Director of the CSCS said: “Our aim is to draw together academics, policy makers and security professionals to create partnerships that translate good research ideas into practical real world solutions.
