Rodriguez's wife files for divorce, citing adultery

Following days of tabloid speculation about Alex Rodriguez's relationship with pop icon Madonna, the wife of the New York Yankees' third baseman filed for divorce yesterday, calling her husband an adulterer who “emotionally abandoned his wife and children.” Cynthia Rodriguez, in a petition filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court, said “the marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken because of the husband's extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct. The petitioner has exhausted every effort to salvage the marriage of the parties.
