Madonna has been named in divorce papers filed by the wife of Alex Rodriguez, the American baseball player the singer is said to have been enjoying an intimate friendship with. In papers supporting the legal $275m suit, Rodriguez is accused of being unfaithful and "emotionally abandoning his wife and children". It also claims that the sportsman has been "brainwashed" by the pop star's mystical Kabbalah religion. The court papers say: "The marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken because of the husband's extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct".
