Michael Zeigler • Staff writer • July 8, 2008 A Rochester man has admitted that he hijacked a stretch limousine in Irondequoit and drove it into the city while trying to escape capture for stealing power tools from a home improvement store. Desmin K. Diggs, 28, pleaded guilty Monday to felony charges of second-degree robbery, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment; misdemeanor charges of petit larceny and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting; and traffic violations of leaving the scene of an incident — all in connection with events on June 22, 2007. Diggs, who entered the pleas as his trial was to begin, will receive a prison term of nine years when acting state Supreme Court Justice Stephen R. Sirkin sentences him Aug. 19.
