HTC June revenues meet market expectations, to begin selling CDMA Diamond in Canada in 3Q

Daniel Shen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 8 July 2008] High Tech Computer (HTC) posted revenues of NT$11.84 billion (US$389.5 million) in June, up 8.2% on month and up 21.1% on year, according to a company press release. The performance met market expectations of revenues of NT$11-12 billion for HTC in June. For the second quarter, revenues were up 28.9% on year to NT$34.62 billion, surpassing the NT$34 billion the company projected earlier. However, after-tax profits were down 6.3% sequentially to NT$6.44 billion in the second quarter due to a one-off appropriation of unused inventory and rising marketing expenses, the company indicated.
