Amir Khan has extended his contract with Frank Warren but the promoter will continue to treat the Bolton lightweight with kid gloves ahead of his return to the ring in September. Khan, 21, has agreed a new deal with Warren - the details of which have not been disclosed - ahead of his next scheduled fight at the Manchester Evening News Arena on Saturday, September 6. Khan's opponent will be announced later this week and the 2004 Olympic silver medallist will aim to extend his run to 19 straight victories since turning professional. The issue of who will train him remains undecided but continuing his association with Warren is a vote of confidence for his promoter - even if Khan looks certain to have to wait until next year for a world title shot.
