Three facing anti-China charge freed

KATHMANDU, July 8 - The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the authorities to release two Nepalis and a Tibetan refugee arrested on charge of anti-China activity after it found their detention illegal. Those released are Nawang Sangmo, Tashi Dolma -- both Nepali -- and Tibetan refugee Kelsang Chung. They were arrested on June 19 from their respective residences on a charge of launching anti-China protests and undermining Nepal's "one China policy". While releasing the three, Justices Min Bahadur Rayamajhi and Top Bahadur Magar said that the accused were arrested without specifying the effect of their activities on the peace and security of Nepal.
