Braid joins the All Blacks in Dunedin

Daniel Braid has taken the first step towards a potential test start against the Wallabies by joining the All Blacks in Dunedin for training this week. Braid has joined the All Blacks in an "unofficial" capacity and had his first hitout with Graham Henry's squad in their indoor session yesterday. A team spokesman confirmed Braid, coming off a calf injury which ruled him out of the NZ Maori's Pacific Nations Cup campaign, would remain with the squad all week and would also be receiving medical attention through that time. The outstanding Blues and Auckland openside is the preferred backup to All Blacks skipper Richie McCaw who is out of action until August 16's test against the Boks...
