Last Modified: 07 Jul 2008 Source: PA News Sir Trevor McDonald is launching a campaign to raise awareness of cancer among black and minority ethnic (BME) communities in Britain. The TV newsreader is working with a coalition of cancer charities to highlight specific issues affecting the BME population. Black women are more likely to get breast cancer at a younger age than other women and the disease also tends to be more aggressive. Meanwhile, people from South Asia are more likely to suffer mouth cancer while Bangladeshi and Chinese communities have a higher incidence of liver cancer. Ethnic Minority Cancer Awareness Week is being launched by the charity Cancer Equality at the House of Commons. The event is being hosted by Labour MPs Dr Ian Gibson and Sadiq Khan and will be attended by former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq....
