Flushing Violence Leads to Calls to Recall of Council Member Friday, July 04, 2008 On the 234th anniversary of the Independence Day of the United States, a group of residents of Flushing, New York, formed a committee to impeach their councilman John Liu (Queens) and Assemblywoman Ellen Young (New York) for taking the side of pro-communist thugs in the violent incident in Flushing. The committee is formed by representatives from various organizations and Flushing residents. In the committee establishment meeting, over 50 locals from local mainland Chinese and Taiwanese communities signed their name to show their support about the impeachment.
