David Cameron has said Conservative government would fight Britain's knife crime epidemic by automatically jailing all knife criminals. Courts and police will be told to ensure that those found carrying a knife without a reasonable excuse will face prison. His comments follow the deaths of 18 teenagers in London, who were all stabbed to death this year. In an interview, Mr Cameron said: "We have to send the strongest possible message that carrying a knife is completely unacceptable in Britain, end of subject. "The Government should say not just there is presumption you will be prosecuted if you carry a knife, but that there will be a presumption you will go to jail. "It is not a minor offence.
