High Fuel Prices Dampening Plans for Long Distance Vacations

Story by Gil McClanahan HURRICANE -- High fuel prices are causing a lot of changes, but many are not letting it throw a wrench their vacation plans. The solution is don't travel as far on vacation. "It's keeping us closer to home. We do plan to do a lot more things here in the West Virginia area. We aren't traveling as much," says Robert Seabolt, of Winfield. The Waves of Fun Pool in Hurricane is seeing an increase in business. That's because people can still enjoy the waves of the ocean without traveling to the beach. "They enjoy coming here now because of the price of gas. They can come here more often than they can go on a vacation and spend the money on vacation and gas," says Cathy Birdsall,...
