CHICAGO (STNG) ― A man who heard a possible intruder in a downstairs apartment unit was fatally shot early Saturday in the Lawndale neighborhood. Pierre Moore, of 2233 S. Springfield Avenue was fatally shot in his home early Saturday, a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said. An autopsy Saturday revealed Moore died from a gunshot wound to the neck, the medical examiner's office said. His death has been ruled a homicide. Moore was in his home in the second floor apartment of the Springfield Avenue apartment building when he heard something coming from a downstairs apartment, which was supposed to be unoccupied, police said.
