Boater killed in Trenton accident

Jackson Hayes Staff Reporter One man is dead and another is injured after a boating accident early this morning in Trenton. The crash came along a section of the Trent River east of Front St. after midnight. Officers with the Quinte West OPP detachment say a woman wandered into their detachment around 1:30 last night. The unidentified woman was soaking wet and told officers she had just been in a boating accident nearby. The Quinte West Fire Department, with the assistance of a rescue helicopter, was able to locate a heavily damaged boat drifting roughly 30 feet east of Front St. on the Trent River in Trenton. One man on board had died and a second man was suffering from serious injuries. Both were rushed to Trenton Memorial Hospital.
