According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, the wreck happened around 1:22 a.m. Friday on South Landry Road. A preliminary investigation showed that the woman, a 40-year-old New Iberia resident, was traveling southbound in a 1995 Mercedes Benz when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled onto the left shoulder in a curve in the road. The driver then apparently overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross the roadway and slide into a ditch on the right side of the road. The vehicle then flipped over.
